Dr. AshleY Ray
Pastor Ashley E. Ray, D. Min, has pastored 4 churches since 1996 including planting a church in Avon, Indiana just west of Indianapolis. Called to preach the gospel at age 15 and ordained at age 19 under the ministry of Adrian Rogers, Ashley believes much has been given to him and, therefore, much is required of him. He sees preaching the Word in the context of the local church as his life-long purpose. He and his wife of over 20 years, Carrie, are blessed with a son, Harrison, and a daughter, Anna Grace.
A native Memphian, Ashley and family came back to Memphis in 2009 where they serve Ridgeway Baptist Church. He holds degrees from Union University, Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Ashley loves to spend time with his family and extended family as well as hunt and fish.
Associate Pastor to Students and Families
Josh Gray is the Associate Pastor of Families and Students at Ridgeway Baptist Church. He joined the staff in January 2012. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a concentration in History from the University of Memphis and a Masters of Divinity from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife Laurie have 2 girls: Lizzie Kate, and Lucie.
Minister to Senior Adults
David and Alicia Love have been happily married for 38 years. They have 3 children and 8 grandchildren. He has served in various capacities in congregational care over the past two decades. David holds a Master of Divinity from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary.
Minister of Music and Worship
William Thompson was called to worship ministries at the age of 18 and since has been involved in several diverse church music internships including Falkner Baptist, Belden Baptist in Tupelo, and First Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi. He is a graduate of Blue Mountain College with a Bachelor of Arts in Worship Leadership with an emphasis on Vocal Performance. William has been serving as the Minister of Music and Worship since March 2018. In his spare time, you may find William composing, singing opera, spending time with family, or playing tennis.
Minister of Recreation
Randy has been a member of RBC in 1986 and has been on staff since June of 2004. He has never met a stranger and enjoys getting to know people on a personal level. He has a heart for children and students. Randy’s favorite verse is Psalm 56:3 which states “What time I am afraid I will trust in thee.”
Randy met his wife, Lisa, at the BSU (Baptist Student Union) on the campus of Memphis State University. They were married at Ridgeway Baptist Church on August 2, 1986 and have three adult sons and three grandchildren. He is a fan of the Memphis Tigers. He enjoys all sports, reading biographies and singing in the choir.
Carrie has been involved with children’s ministry her entire married life as the wife of our Pastor, and she has been our Children’s Ministry Director since the fall of 2018. Carrie’s testimony is that she entered her teen years thinking she was a “good girl” but realized she had been through confirmation class without being converted to Christ. This experience, and having two teenagers, motivates Carrie to make children’s ministry all about the gospel.
She earned a B. S. in General Studies from Delta State University, while also completing classes in early childhood education. Carrie helped plant a church in Indianapolis, Indiana area before coming to Ridgeway in 2009. When she’s not ministering to kids, she enjoys teaching women, long walks with her husband and Honey Bun (her Golden Retriever), and boating with her family.
Director of Communications
Jake came on staff in June 2019. He oversees all publications, web design, social media, photography and videography, sound, lights, and visual productions. Jake is originally from New York, and moved to Memphis in 2017 to attend The College at Mid-America.
Christian Life Center Coordinator; Facilities Director
Judy and her family became members of Ridgeway in 1997, and she has been on staff since 2001. Judy feels blessed for the opportunity she has been given to be a part of both the Recreation staff and Facilities Operations’ team.
A native Memphian, Judy graduated from Briarcrest Christian School and Southwest Community College.
Judy and her husband, Kirk, have two grown children, Ethan and Alex. In her spare time, she enjoys deer hunting with her husband and watching her kids play sports.
Ruth has been a member of Ridgeway since 1976. She started working as church hostess in July of 1992. She enjoys serving others and sees it as a ministry.
Ruth has 2 daughters, 1 son, and 5 grandchildren.
