1. Know Jesus Personally

Scripture Base

“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” (John 17:3 ESV)

“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.” (2 Peter 3:18).

Objective

To see people saved, baptized, and pursuing discipleship through the ministry of Ridgeway Baptist Church

Strategies: How Do We Accomplish the Objective?

At the end of every service we will offer people the chance to take their next step in knowing Jesus personally:

• Surrender to Christ for salvation
• Baptism
• Discover Ridgeway for Church Membership
• Rededication / Recommitment
• Responding to God’s Call in your life for service

These NEXT STEPS can be done during the invitation time with a NEXT STEPS counselor, at the designated NEXT STEPS kiosk in the lobby (a NEXT STEPS counselor will be available each service), or digitally through the church website, Ridgeway App, or by text.

This is a one-time experience designed to help those desiring more information about or how to become a member of Ridgeway Baptist. The class will meet one Sunday per quarter following the AM Service (11:30 – 1:00). Lunch will be provided and childcare will be available up to 4 years old.

These groups will meet on Sunday mornings before the AM Worship Service. Classes will be offered for people of all ages and stages of life, and will be designed for fellowship and to equip believers to grow toward spiritual maturity

D-Groups (Discipleship Groups) are the heartbeat of making disciples at RBC. A D-Group Leader will disciple 2-3 people (men disciple men / women disciple women) weekly for a period of 4 months. Each group will decide their time and place of meeting. The D-Group meeting will consist of discussion of weekly Bible reading, Scripture memory, Prayer and Accountability.

Each D-Group participant will be encouraged to become a D-Group Leader for discipleship multiplication. DGroups will meet in the Spring (February – May) and the Fall (August – November).

Groups will meet once a month, for three months, on Sunday nights at a host home through-out the Greater Memphis area. These groups will be designed to foster multi-generational / multi-cultural fellowship, connection to RBC, and engagement in spiritual discussion. Community Groups meet in the Spring and Fall.

The Ridgeway Resource Center will provide materials for equipping believers of all ages to grow in their faith. Some materials will be provided free of charge, while others (books) will be provided at cost.

2. Worship Jesus Passionately

“Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song and His praise in the congregation of the godly ones.” (Psalm 149:1 NASB)

“But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship Him.” (John 4:23 ESV)

Objective

To equip believers to engage in authentic and passionate worship both corporately and individually

Strategies: How Do We Accomplish the Objective?

The RBC Worship Choir helps lead the congregation in Worship on Sunday Mornings. They meet on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM and on Sundays at 9:55 AM. Choir members should be active in all aspects of RBC ministry to be effective in leading worship.

The RBC Praise band / Orchestra is a dedicated group of people who use their instrumental talent for the glory of God. They meet on Wednesdays at 5:15 PM and on Sundays at 8:30 AM. Team members should be active in all aspects of RBC ministry to be effective in leading worship

The RBC Praise Team is a group of singers who lead out front during congregational worship. The Praise Team meets on Wednesdays at 5:15 PM and Sundays at 8:30 AM for rehearsal.Team members should be active in the Worship Choir and all other aspects of RBC ministry to be effective
in leading worship.

People who are gifted in singing / playing an instrument may be used from time to time to lead in the AM Worship service or other special events. To lead as a soloist or in an ensemble one should be active in the Worship Choir / Praise Band / Orchestra and all other aspects of RBC ministry.

The technical side of worship is vital to the body of Christ worshipping Jesus passionately. This team will ensure that all equipment is up to date and is working in order to continue to worship Jesus with excellence.

The Ridgeway Resource Center will provide RBC members and guests materials to enhance their corporate and private worship. Some materials will be free of charge, while others will be charged at cost.

This team will be responsible for preparing, setting up and cleaning up the Ordinance of the Lord’s Supper. The Lord’s Supper will be observed on the last Sunday of March, June, September and December.

3. Serve Jesus Purposefully

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8 NASB)

To see every member of Ridgeway Baptist Church serving Jesus in the church, in Memphis, and in the world.

Strategies: How Do We Accomplish the Objective?

Offering quality nursery care for Sunday Bible Study Groups and AM Worship Celebration.

Encourages children and their families to know Jesus and to serve Him with purpose. RidgeKids offers Bible Study Groups, camps, special events and VBS throughout the year.

Provides a place for students to grow in their faith, build relationships and serve Jesus while having a blast! Ridgeway Students uses Bible Study Groups, D-Groups, exciting weekly worship, games, camps and special events to impact students around the Greater Memphis area.

A unique ministry engaging Memphis area college students in worship, discipleship, and relationship building through weekly worship, D-groups, and special events.

Designed to equip young married couples to thrive in the formative years of their marriage relationship. This ministry offers special events, Bible Studies, and service projects throughout the year.

Equips women of all ages to grow toward spiritual maturity and build authentic relationships through Bible Studies, connection events, worship opportunities and service projects.

Provides men of all ages a place to grow in their faith and hang out with other men through Bible Studies, special events, and ministry opportunities.

Gives Sr. Adults (Ages 55+) an opportunity to connect with others and strengthen relationships through monthly meetings and special events.

Using sports and recreation as a means to provide fellowship for believers and reaching others with the Gospel of Jesus. The Recreation Ministry offers a variety of events and teams throughout the year.

Prayer is vital to the health and ministry of RBC. We desire to seek God’s will in all things. This ministry will use a prayer group (by text) for both prayer requests and praise reports; and will also use a 24 Pray Event. This event is one day, each week for 24 hours during the Spring and Fall.

This ministry is the front line of connecting with RBC. From parking lot greeters, door greeters and the Welcome Center, we want everyone to feel welcomed to worship our great God! This team will also be responsible for ensuring that all signage is correct and up-to-date.

This team is vital to the safety of everyone on the RBC Campus during services and events. They will be responsible for parking lot and campus security on Sundays, Wednesdays, and special events.

This team will be responsible to ensure that the inside and outside of the RBC Campus is kept clean and in working order. They will work closely with the Administrative Team to maintain the building and grounds.

We desire that all members, attenders, and our surrounding community are shepherded well and have excellent mental and spiritual health. We will take every opportunity to visit and pray with those needing pastoral care. RBC will also provide, free of charge, qualified Biblical counseling for individuals and families on a short-term basis.

Ridgeway will partner with ministries and organizations in the Ridgeway community and the Greater Memphis area to further the message of the Gospel to the city that we love. We will also host community outreach events for the purpose of sharing the love of Jesus with our neighbors. In addition, we will partner with the Mid-South Baptist Association through our budgeted giving.

Ridgeway will enter a 3 year partnership with a church plant in the USA. We will provide a team once a year to help with outreach events, VBS, community surveys, etc. In addition, we will partner with the Tennessee Baptist Convention and the North American Mission Board through our budgeted
giving and Annual Missions Offering.

The mandate of Jesus is to take the Gospel to all the world. RBC will partner with an international work for 3 years by providing a team to help with needs on the international field. In addition, we will partner with the Southern Baptist Convention and the International Mission Board through our budgeted giving and Annual Missions Offering.
