Pastor Ashley E. Ray, D. Min, has pastored 4 churches since 1996 including planting a church in Avon, Indiana just west of Indianapolis. Called to preach the gospel at age 15 and ordained at age 19 under the ministry of Adrian Rogers, Ashley believes much has been given to him and, therefore, much is required of him. He sees preaching the Word in the context of the local church as his life-long purpose. He and his wife of over 20 years, Carrie, are blessed with a son, Harrison, and a daughter, Anna Grace.
A native Memphian, Ashley and family came back to Memphis in 2009 where they serve Ridgeway Baptist Church. He holds degrees from Union University, Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Ashley loves to spend time with his family and extended family as well as hunt and fish.
Josh Gray is the Associate Pastor of Families and Students at Ridgeway Baptist Church. He joined the staff in January 2012. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a concentration in History from the University of Memphis and a Masters of Divinity from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife Laurie have been married for 8 years and have 2 little girls: Lizzie Kate, who is 5, and Lucie, who is 16 months.
Randy has been a member of RBC in 1986 and has been on staff since June of 2004. He has never met a stranger and enjoys getting to know people on a personal level. He has a heart for children and students. Randy’s favorite verse is Psalm 56:3 which states “What time I am afraid I will trust in thee.”
Randy married his wife, Lisa, on August 2, 1986 and has three adult sons and three grandchildren. He enjoys all sports and reading biographies.
Megan and her family joined Ridgeway in 2013, and she became the Preschool Director in 2015. She oversees childcare for all services and helps plan events and activities such as Little Olympics, Kid’s Night Out, and VBS. She and her husband Darrell have a daughter named Joley. She enjoys being a wife and mother and rooting for the Memphis Tigers. Her favorite Bible verse is I Thessalonians 5:16-18.
Debbie has been working at Ridgeway since 2003 as the Financial Administrator. In addition to financials, she also does data management and is the liaison between the church and Westminster Academy. She loves Ridgeway and considers them her family.
In her spare time, she likes to craft, fish, and read. Her favorite outreach is Vacation Bible School.
Judy and her family became members of Ridgeway in 1997 and she has been on staff since 2001. Judy feels blessed for the opportunity she has been given to be a part of both the RBC Recreation staff and Facilities Operations team.
A native Memphian, Judy graduated from Briarcrest Christian School and Southwest Community College.
Judy and her husband, Kirk, have two grown children, Ethan and Alex. In her spare time, she enjoys deer hunting with her husband and watching her kids play sports.
Becky Newport has been the Music Assistant for eighteen years. She enjoys doing what is necessary to support the choir and music director. She is a native of Ohio and her father is a retired American Baptist pastor. At six years old, she accepted Christ as her LORD and Savior. Becky’s favorite book of the Bible is Psalms and her favorite verse is Proverbs 3:5-6. In her spare time, Becky favorite things to do are walking, reading, watching sports, baking, and crafts.
Ruth has been a member of Ridgeway since 1976. She started working as church hostess in July of 1992. She enjoys serving others and sees it as a ministry.
Ruth has 2 daughters and 1 son and 5 grandchildren. Her favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6
William Thompson was called to worship ministries at the age of 18 and since has been involved in several diverse church music internships including Falkner Baptist, Belden Baptist in Tupelo, and First Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi. He will be graduating from Blue Mountain College this spring with a Bachelor of Arts in Worship Leadership with an emphasis on Vocal Performance. William has been serving as the Minister of Music and Worship since March 2018. In his spare time, you may find William composing, singing opera, spending time with family, or playing tennis.
